Computers for the Community Campaign!

In the modern world computer literacy is not a choice; those who are computer literate have a distinct advantage over those who are not. Small, local hotel owners need internet skills to take online reservation requests to compete with large hotels run out of Cusco. Job applications for higher level jobs require competency with the Microsoft Office suite and email familiarity.
Local schools and business owners have made repeated requests for computer literacy classes. And while we have already begun teaching in two local schools, we have not yet been able to expand our program to offer adult computer classes. We have the students, we have the classroom and we have the curriculum. Now we are only missing the most important component of a computer class: computers!
We need basic laptops, for portability’s sake of transportation, that have a working battery and can access the internet. If the laptop has Microsoft Office, wonderful. If not, we partner with TechSoup, a non-profit donating computer programs to other non-profits. Help us expand our program by donating a laptop! If you can donate a working computer (or even two!), we can write you a tax-free donation letter and eventually, a picture of our first Awamaki sponsored computer class.
