Yovana was born in Lima and spent a couple years during her childhood going to school in Cusco before returning to Lima. Now, she has been in the Cusco area for about ten years but has travelled a lot, to various places for work. Although Yovana has changed her role quite a bit with Awamaki, she is now working as the Operations Director. She loves numbers and manages the finances as well as the administrative, legal and social aspects of the organization. Yovana loves dogs with a passion and never misses a chance to talk to them when she seems them in the streets of Ollantaytambo.

Awamaki is a nonprofit fair trade social enterprise dedicated to connecting Andean artisan weavers with global markets. We collaborate with women artisans to support their efforts towards educational and financial independence by co-creating beautifully handcrafted knit and woven accessories using hertiage techniques.
